It is situated in a hill from which you'll get one of the best views of Rome. It was a place where, as tradition says, Roman Emperors use to have some rest in the middle of the woods before being crowned. It became Margaret of Austria's property after its marriage with Alessandro De Medici in the 16th century. Afterwards it became Farnese's and Bourbons' property until it was completely abandoned. In 1929 Vanni's Family, pretty known in the restaurant's world, restored it and opened the place to the public.
The Casina di Macchia Madama is located in the hill of the Monte Olimpico and is rounded by hundreds of trees. It is a very quiet and peaceful place, far from the traffic and noise of the city centre. This atmosphere makes it the ideal location for any kind of important events, ceremonies, gala dinners and cocktail meetings. The ambience is elegant and natural at the same time, perfect to organize the most exclusive evenings in Rome for either VIPs or business men.
